Supporting the UN Global Compact

UN Global Compact

On February 8, 2021, Dril-Quip® joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact as a signatory, and now supports the organization's Ten Principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption as a Participant.

We are committed to incorporating these principles into the culture, strategy and day-to-day operations of our company, and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader objectives of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainability begins with supporting the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact that advance societal goals, across human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

Dril-Quip® does not tolerate the use of child labor or forced labor and expects that the business and all affiliated partners across our Supply Chain adhere to the same ethical standards.

Committed to UN Sustainable Development Goals

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a shared blueprint to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and promote peace. At the heart of this Agenda are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), that are a call to action to make a more sustainable future.

Lack of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning opportunities is a critical equity issue in education, particularly for students in urban and rural communities. This deficiency could have a long-term impact on the development of technological innovation in the future.

Dril-Quip® believes that children, regardless of where they live, should have access to STEM education. We are strongly committed to working with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' INSPIRE STEM Readiness program to support the local community and encourage future engineers. This classroom-based program provides learning experiences to kindergarten through 12th-grade students who otherwise might not have been exposed to engineering career opportunities.

Gender inequality continues to persist globally, as women continue to be underrepresented across all levels of business and political leadership. The empowerment of women is critical to social and economic progress, yet women still represent less than 30% of managerial positions worldwide. The effect of COVID-19 has only exacerbated the inequality.

Dril-Quip® is very committed to supporting gender equality and empowering women through mentoring and career development throughout the workforce. In addition, a core priority for the STEM education initiative has been to increase diversity and inclusion across engineering disciplines.
